Microfocus X-ray tube for high-resolution molecular imaging
New therapeutic approaches in medical imaging require innovative imaging techniques with time and spatially resolved information on molecular and functional processes. This allows new therapeutic biomolecules (e.g. based on nanotechnologies) to be localized and quantified in the body. The use of microfocus X-ray tubes for high-resolution molecular imaging enables the implementation of innovative research projects in translational and interdisciplinary medical research with a focus on cancer and immune system regulation.

Funding period:: 01/2024 - 06/2025
The procurement supports research activities in the fields of X-ray fluorescence and dark-field imaging with the following overarching research objectives:
- Development of new X-ray-based imaging methods
- Improvement of the characterization of tumor tissues
- Individualized precision medicine
