Christoph Hoeschen as new SPIE Fellow

Prof. Dr. Christoph Hoeschen, Professor for Medical Technology Systems and Managing Director of the Institute for Medical Technology has been awarded the title of SPIE Fellow. This high honour is awarded to particularly deserving members of the "International society for optics and photonics" SPIE for achievements to date. Prof. Hoeschen has worked for almost 15 years on the organising committee of the SPIE conference "Physics of Medical Imaging", which he chaired as the first European for a total of 3 years. The SPIE Medical Imaging Symposium is his scientific home, emphasises the award winner. He and his colleagues regularly presented research work there, especially on new imaging approaches with ionising radiation, on image quality measurement and on dosimetry. In addition, Prof. Hoeschen has been an associate editor of the Journal of Medical Imaging published by SPIE for over 6 years. In addition, he has been involved in the SPIE Career Development Program, has organised various workshops for SPIE or has been an invited speaker at such workshops.
